Creepozoids is a fun watch. Directed by David DeCoteau in fifteen days, and it really shows.
A disparate group of deserters from a post-nuclear war, escaping deadly acid rain, hide out in an underground bunker. Linnea Quigley, of Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers and Night of the Demons fame, gets top billing as the soldier who literally trips over a stone. Her executive producer role explains the billing, but she really is the most famous of this cast.
With an Alien-type creature, mutant rats and a ferocious baby-alien hybrid, this film really has it all except a budget big enough to realise its ambition. The set is four rooms and a corridor, with lots of dim lighting to hide the rubber-suited creature’s costume failings. Lots of 80s heavy electronic synth waves add to the sci-fi horror tropes.
Definitely worth a look in for the funny giant rats, and Linnea giving it her best acting, which involves getting soapy in the shower with “Butch” and looking puzzled at what could possibly next befall her and her comrades in arms.
