More Jean Rollin, from 1975. Lips of Blood concerns Frederick trying to piece together a memory of a mysterious young woman he met as a twelve year old. He inadvertently sets free four vampires in his quest, and has to avoid an assassin, his controlling mother and the four vampires in his mission to find the woman he finds out is called Jennifer.
He manages to squeeze in a trip to a cinema showing Rollin’s own The Nude Vampire, where Frederick encounters the mysterious Jennifer for the first time since he met her as a boy. Lots of nudity, as expected from Rollin, and once again he ends up on the same beach as The Iron Rose. His cast deserve special plaudits for stripping off in all areas and weather.
The verdict is still out on whether Rollin is a genius or just plain bonkers.
