Nightmare City (1980) is a crazy one from Umberto “Cannibal Ferox” Lenzi. I am sure that Robert Rodriguez was inspired to make Planet Terror from watching this.
A military plane of radioactive, flesh-eating, knife-wielding zombies take over a city, including the hospital, the military air base and a theme park. Lenzi is no Fulci, but he does his best, and the twist is pedestrian.
The Italians seem to have no sense of urgency, so when stopping at a petrol station, rather than fill up and get out, they choose a new coat and make a coffee while they are surrounded by hordes of the radioactive zombies.
