Exorcist II: The Heretic

Does it deserve the accolade of the most hated film? With comments like “there is a very strong probability that Exorcist II is the stupidest major movie ever made”, probably yes. I watched this as I have avoided this mess as long as I could, but with the documentary featuring Boorman on release, it was time to dive in.
Who’s to blame for this dull existential pondering essay on the good that attracts evil in all of us? Boorman was producer and director, so probably the blame lies at his bedroom door of demonic possession. Blair does her best with what she has. She was a better actress when she was a child; as an adolescent she really flounders among the locusts and crumbling set. Burton should know better, but he was always an actor for hire, and The Medusa Touch is testament to that.
Well, at least I am prepped for the documentary Boorman and the Devil, if nothing else.
