Pete Walker’s sex comedy exploitationer (sic) from 1970 was based on a report the director read in the now defunct Brit tabloid the News of the World. Carol and Joe leave their small-town world to make it big in London. He thinks he can get a job selling high-end cars; she wants to be a model after previously winning a beauty contest in her home town. Reality soon hits and their meagre cash pot is soon depleted. Carol turns to prostitution and, with Joe as her pimp/manager, she negotiates sex work in escorting and porn films while finally getting to model with her clothes on.
Janet Lynn is cute as Carol, who never seems to let her situation get on top of her, and Robin Askwith plays it straight as Joe. Lynn didn’t pursue a film career, but Askwith hit pay dirt in Brit sex comedies under the Confessions of… series. An exploitation curio for Pete Walker fans and those with an interest in 1970s British films.
