Die Screaming Marianne (1971) is a thriller directed by Pete Walker and starring Susan George and Barry Evans. A departure for Walker, as it does not feature his signature gory murders and nudity from his cast.
George plays Marianne, on the run from her family, who want the secret number to a Swiss account which contains incriminating evidence on her father, The Judge. Filmed on location in London and the Algarve, it features a duplicitous cast of characters and hints at an incestuous tension between The Judge and his second daughter Hildegard, played by Judy Huxtable.
Considering Marianne should Die Screaming, she is one of the few people to survive the series of mishaps that befall all around her. A solid feature from Walker, but it lacks his usual punctuation of horror exploitation.
